Hydros Power selected among the Top 20 AI for Good 2026 projects

Hydros Power has been selected by the jury among the 20 projects advancing to the next stage of the AI for Good Awards 2026, an initiative that recognizes artificial intelligence projects, applications, developments, and solutions capable of generating a positive impact in areas such as social, environmental, economic, or institutional development.

The selection places Hydros Power alongside other outstanding technology initiatives such as InfoJobs and Shakers, within a call that seeks to highlight the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to solve real-world challenges. The jury, made up of professionals from organizations such as Microsoft EMEA, Google Cloud, and Telefónica Tech, evaluated criteria including scalability, traceability, and the real impact of the submitted projects.

Artificial intelligence for better hydrogen management

The selection recognizes the use of artificial intelligence within Hydros Power’s ecosystem to improve the operation of its hydrogen systems. Its approach is based on incorporating AI in a non-invasive way, integrated into the system’s operation, with the aim of improving operational efficiency without adding complexity for the user. To achieve this, Hydros Power works with specialized reinforcement learning and supervised machine learning algorithms, trained using operational data obtained from simulations and real-world environments.

This approach is another piece within the company’s broader vision: developing a modular and intelligent ecosystem capable of accelerating the adoption of green hydrogen in sectors where batteries do not offer a viable solution, such as logistics, urban mobility, and industrial transport. In this context, artificial intelligence acts as an optimization layer that improves system performance and facilitates deployment in real-world applications.

“Being selected for the AI for Good Awards 2026 confirms that the path we chose was the right one: incorporating artificial intelligence where it truly adds value, almost invisibly for the user, but with a clear impact on system performance,” says Iván Navalón, CEO of Hydros Power.

Next steps in the AI for Good Awards

The 20 selected initiatives will present their projects in a pitch format at a final event to be held in Madrid. There, the jury will choose one initiative per category and, among them, the overall winner of the AI for Good Awards 2026. Several local pitch events are also expected to take place, helping showcase the candidate projects in different cities.

With this selection, Hydros Power reinforces its position as a deep tech company combining hydrogen, artificial intelligence, and other disruptive tools to accelerate the decarbonization of sectors where conventional electrification is not enough.
