Hydros Power introduces STELION Gas Cooler for post-compression hydrogen cooling
Hydros Power introduces STELION Gas Cooler, a compact gas cooling system designed to reduce hydrogen (& other gases) temperature after compression. Available to order from today, the unit provides a dedicated cooling stage before storage, testing, refuelling or other processes that require gas temperature conditioning.
Developed primarily for hydrogen, STELION Gas Cooler can be integrated with STELION Booster Station and other compatible gas compression systems. It allows cooling to be incorporated as a dedicated stage within the installation, according to the requirements of the downstream process.

Post-compression hydrogen cooling using Peltier technology
STELION Gas Cooler is connected in series between the compressor and the end-use application. It receives the gas after the compression stage and reduces its temperature before directing it to the next process. Applications include R&D laboratories, test benches, gas storage processes and hydrogen refuelling systems, including those used for drones.
The gas cooler uses electrically powered Peltier thermoelectric technology and is designed for operating pressures of up to 700 bar. Its suitability for each application depends on the gas flow rate and the required inlet and outlet temperatures.
STELION Gas Cooler tested at 700 bar
In a test conducted at Hydros Power’s facilities at 700 bar, with the compressor operating at 70 cycles per minute (cpm), temperatures of 50 °C at the compressor outlet and 15 °C at the STELION Gas Cooler outlet were recorded.
These results reflect specific test conditions. Thermal performance may vary depending on ambient and operating conditions, including the gas flow rate and the required cooling parameters.
Although developed primarily for hydrogen cooling, STELION Gas Cooler can also be adapted for other compatible gases and fluids, depending on the application requirements.
Compact gas cooler design for system integration
STELION Gas Cooler builds on the modular design language introduced with STELION Booster Station. Its compact architecture allows rack mounting and facilitates integration into different gas compression and cooling installations.

The power supply can be repositioned by the user on either side of the unit, allowing the system layout to be adapted to changing installation requirements.
The unit measures 386 × 272 × 335 mm and weighs 18.3 kg. Depending on the configuration, it features quick couplings or 1/4-inch male NPT connections for integration with the compression system and the gas line leading to the end-use application.
STELION Gas Cooler available to order
With STELION Gas Cooler, Hydros Power expands the STELION range with a gas cooling solution that complements the compression capabilities of STELION Booster Station and can be integrated with other compatible systems.
The product is now available to order, with configuration options depending on the operating conditions and thermal requirements of each application.
Further technical information and configuration options are available on the STELION Gas Cooler product page.
